Quite often, the
Atlantic's Andrew Sullivan publishes things that speak volumes about the utter smallness of his character, or the pukey nature of his status as a human being.
His blog post "
Anecdote of the Day" is just one of those examples.
Sullivan doesn't like William Kristol -- we get it. But he choose the time of Kristol's father's death to link to what he
admits is
a false story from a blog commenter about the younger Kristol -- a false story which he says 'made him chuckle.'
Putting aside for a moment the fact that this is yet another example of Sullivan's pettines, I suppose we should be grateful that he chose to at least admit from the outset that something he published wasn't the truth. Which does, I guess, represent forward progress from one of the Internet's greatest moralizers. So we've got that going for us, which is nice.
Well done, Sullivan. You make us so very proud.
