Update: KCEN-TV reports that a third shooter is firing on a SWAT Team.

Update II: Reports are that the shooting started at the Howze Theater and then moved to an athletic complex. NBC is reporting from The Pentagon (Jim Miklaszewski) that this may be a terrorist attack. But that is not confirmed.

Another report says officials concerned there may be more victims.

Update XI: Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) reports on MSNBC that there may be 30 wounded.

Update XIII: KCEN-TV reports that about '500 military personnel are moving sacross the base' in order to secure it. Two suspects now in custody.

Update XIV: KWTX-TV and CNN reporting nine dead.

Update XV: KCEN-TV is now reporting that there are two additional areas reporting shots fired. This is unconfirmed.

Update XVI: According to MSNBC's Roger Cressey, one suspect is a Major with "Arabic-sounding name." This from "high-ranking White House source." Update -- Cressey currently on MSNBC: has not repeated this first-hand.

Update XVII: Military briefing at base -- 12 dead, 31 wounded. One shooter dead; two others in custody. All three were US soldiers. Motive unknown.

Update XVIII: Texas Rangers and the Texas Dept. of Public Safety have been deployed to secure the perimeter of the base.

Update XIX: MSNBC reports that one suspect is Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan (previously reported "Malik Nadal Hasan").

Update XX: Military source reports that Major Hasan was "in the Medical Corps, [a] convert to Islam, and was going to deploy soon." MSNBC (Chris Matthews) reports that Sen. Hutchison (R-TX) reports that Major Hasan was very upset about being deployed to Iraq. Sen. Hutchison on MSNBC now and confirms that.

Update XXI: CBS News reports that Major Hasan was "a licensed psychiatrist from Silver Spring, MD."

Update XXII: A reader sends this from the Maryland Board of Physicians: Major Hasan was a graduate of Damascus University or Faculty of Human Medicine, Damascus University. His license was issued May 8, 1995 and expired September 30, 1996.Update: It appears that this might not be the same person. It appears that Hasan obtained his medical education through the US military. So what follows is not the record for the same person.
