Barney Frank Plays the 'Gay Card'

So lemme get this straight: Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) advocates an increase in federal spending coupled with an increase in taxes, and John McCain criticizes those statements on the presidential campaign trail.

This, according to Rep. Frank, therefore means that John McCain is appealing to prejudice, because spending- and tax-increase advocate Frank is gay.

It's all quite simple.

The Boston Globe's Sasha Issenberg reports:

Frank yesterday dismissed McCain's words as "an appeal to prejudice" that he said reminded him of past Republican efforts to raise voter concerns about the prospect of congressmen Charles Rangel and John Conyers, who are black, becoming committee chairs.

"I'm flattered by this," said Frank, who is gay. "But I don't think I'm the single most important member of the House after Nancy Pelosi. There are also a lot of straight white men who are committee chairmen."

McCain's chief speechwriter, Mark Salter, shook his head when asked to respond. "We're bringing him up for his quotes," said Salter. "We're prejudiced against wasteful spenders and tax hikers."

Pathetic.

Barney Frank is an asshole.

There, I did it. I played the 'asshole card.'

Barney Frank wants to raise taxes, etc. and everything to be fair for everyone.... In other words everybody take it in the keister. It's something he probably is quite familiar with and seems to enjoy.

But he doesn't get offended when there are revelations that his life partner is on the board of Fannie Mae, and no one cares (because obviously gay people can't care about each other)?

I don't anything to do with vague references to gay humor.
The problem with Barney Frank has nothing to do with gay, it has everything to do with the fact that he is an evil partisian who almost singlehandedly has affected the health of our economy. The first thing the fine people from Massachusetts can do for the country is to vote this f@cker out of congress. Let someone else: gay, straight, black, white, male, female - in any combination - replace this repugnant person.

Yea, Yea, Yea....it's all Bush's fault. That sorry refrain is getting stale. The mortgage collaspe is directly traceable to the Dems...in thier zeal to put everyone in a home....even if they couldn't pay for it. Freddie Mac, and Fannie May, Barney Frank, Chuckie Shumer, and the rest of the sorry Dems are responsable for this mess.....not George Bush.

one look and listen to barney and one wonders how in the hell someone like him could get elected dogcatcher in boone, n.c. is there anyone that would lend this guy $100.00 even with a signed note? not a one of you out there, even a yellow dog dem. the fact that he is gay is minor except to say at this stage of his life he has to practice a lot of deception to "fit in" to his genre. this practiced and accepted philosophy of deception in his personal life unconsciously spills over into his professional life, thus his dismal if not criminal record with fannie and/or freddie mac and his response to the finger of guilt and responsibility being pointed at him. deep down he must feel like a miserable bum but maybe not depending on his level of sociopathic behavior. one thing is for sure, do not buy a used (preowned) car from this creature. dg, m.d.

This is just like I thought it would be. If you are white and streight anyone can say anything or do anything or hang "art" outside thier houses and nothing is said about that. But you diagree with a black or a gay person. Oh No! we are racist or we are gay bangers.
Please give it a rest. No one held a gun to your head to take the position you decided to run for. Now you are in the public, you have to take the hits that come along with it. If you hang your dirty laundry out to dry everyone is going to see it and make remarks. If you don't want anyone to know about it you should have kept yourself at home.

If gay = completely incompetent on ethics and law, then, yes, Barney, you're right in playing the gay card. Also, I read somewhere that Barney has "begged Pelosi to not investigate until AFTER THE ELECTION!" Is this account true? Does anyone have other knowledge of this and if so, can we get this to an outlet OTHER THAN THE LA TIMES WHO WILL REPORT IT??
