The
Washington Post's David Montgomery quotes former Weather Underground founder William Ayers,
who blatantly lied in one of his two Washington speeches yesterday:
"Not only did I never kill or injure another person, but the Weather Underground in its six-year existence never killed or injured another person," he said. "We did something that was extreme. Some of you would call it not only extreme but kind of nuts. You might call it off the track. You might call it crazy. You might call it defying of common sense. It was certainly illegal. To call it terrorism stretches the definition of terrorism to everything you don't approve of."
Besides the three Weather Underground members who were killed when their nail bomb -- meant for a military dance hall at Fort Dix, NJ -- went off prematurely, two security guards, one NYC policeman, and one SF policeman were killed in events perpetrated by the Weather Underground.
Ayers must have made a 'rounding error' when he said they "never killed or injured another person."
And then there was this morsel from Ayers:
"I don't for a minute want to harsh anybody's mellow," but "no president takes us to the promised land."
Thanks, Billy...
