Springfield, IL (Rooters) -- The lawyer for embattled Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich today claimed that federal wiretaps capturing Gov. Blagojevich's 'wheeling and dealing' were
obtained illegally.
Blagojevich's lawyer said that there were no bribes, kickbacks, or palm-greasing of any kind involved in installing the listening devices.
"Only a schmuck would do sometin' like dat fer free," said the Illinois governor's lawyer.
"How about, ya know, sometin' fer da effort? Come on, datz just stupid. In fact, it's so stupid, it should be illegal."
One Chicago legal expert, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Blagojevich's lawyer was on solid legal ground, given regular business practice in Chicago.
"Lemme get dis straight: da feds ordered da wiretaps and got nothin' of value for it? Dats preposterous," said the highly-placed lawyer.
"Dem gize need ta get dere heads examined. Enny Chicago judge wort hiz salt will trow da wiretap evidence out on da groundz dat it was obtained by idiots who don' know da value of a buck."
