Well Obama will simply draw on his many years of executive and administrative experience to overcome this setback. Oh wait.
I don't know about you, Rusty, but when I start a new job, I try to put my best foot forward and not make a lot of dumb mistakes in public. Three weeks does not an administration make, but if this is Mr. Obama's best foot, it's going to be a horrendous four years.
May I politely ask what that is supposed to mean? "Three weeks does not an Administration make?"
You bet on Snowball the race horse. He ran into the starting gates before they were opened, threw his jockey, and galloped off in the wrong direction. And your ONLY reaction is "Well, things have to get better from here on out?" What happens when Snowball jumps the fence and leaves the race-track entirely? What happens when he starts to get more serious about protectionism, and wage and price controls? What happens when he's caught eating $100 steaks and turning his thermostat way way up, while telling everyone else to tighten their belts and conserve energy? What will it take for you to recognize a full-bore,megalomaniacal hypocrite?
I believe that the traditional period is 100 days.
Let's remember that it was the Obama vetting team that found all of this shit and made the nominee's fix it. Geitner's explaination was reasonable. Daschel was disappointing and the other lady - who cares. Richardson was always a scumbag and the cabinet offer was purely a campaign payoff that the Obama vetting team made it impossible for him to take. At least there were no Bernie Kerik's. Regarding the stimulus bill it should not be judged until the final bill is signed. It makes sense going into a negotiation with a tough opponent to build things in to the deal that can be thrown out later. Let's check back in in 100 days and see where things are.
Curious, how Democrats so easily embrace the sewage lapping up around Obama's ankles. Transcendently hypocritical; not even worthy of the term "double-standard". No wonder dismembering developing fetuses draws no disgust.
Well, I don't blame you for setting your alarm to wake you up in a hundred days. It's all a bad dream, so you go back to sleep, you big dreamer.
The rest of us will be watching The Full Catastrophe.
you didnt even mention that Obama approached the house republicans and convinced none of them to vote for his centerpiece legislation.
Let's not forget that the Republicans just got their ASSES KICKED in the last election and are floundering around for a new identity. Now that Bush is no longer in office and they are no longer in power they are Fiscally Conservative again. It is the smart move but it looks like they are kicking sand in Obama's face and it will ultimately backfire on them. The grown ups in the senate will get rid of some of the crap, add MORE INFRASTRUCTURE in exchange for condoms and a bunch of other stupid stuff, take it to conference and pass it within the next 2 weeks. That's how the legislative process works. They only need like 2 Republicans in the Senate to pass it and none in the House. It will look different than the original but being the product of compromise Obama will be the hero for getting it done.
7.25% victory margin, 6.1% of which came from the 18-29s...
Punch 10!
It's already one of the more corrupt administrations in US history after 3 weeks. So yes, after 100 days let's check back to see if it's the most corrupt and incompetent ever.
Imagine, the country is almost bankrupt and Obama's response is to waste a trillion dollars in absurd pork projects.
Dude,
I normally don't mind playing the role of Human Pinata however you are just being stupid. It was the Bushies and the republican congress that added 5 trillion to the national debt and have nothing to show for it and in fact made things demonstrably worse. They turned every agency over to the industry it regulated (Poison peanut butter anyone? Poison Tomatoes?) And is there anyone more incompetent than Brownie? Absurd pork Alaska style anyone? How about the Medicare Prescription bill. The DHS was immediately turned into a vehicle to distribute pork to republican loyalists buying lawn mowers and storage sheds in Kansas in the name of Homeland Security. How about the millions of Katrina Dollars that got pissed away on nothing. I believe that 9 members of the Bush Administration have been prosecuted and convicted for acts of official misconduct and one of them for petty theft. How many Republican members of congress are in jail right now for official malfeasance. Duke Cunningham anyone? Bob Ney? The dems have a few rats but you guys are running a rat hotel. Don't talk to me about corrupt. The Democrats recieved far shabbier treatment at the hands of Bush and Hastert so cry me a frickin river. The country voted overwhelmingly against the kind of crap that you guys are peddling and the more you peddle it the greater hole you will dig yourselves. You guys are what I call the 26 percenters. While the majority of the country looks at the pile of crap that was the Bush years you guys are admiring the corn.
Yeppers. And then there's making the decision to close Gitmo without first getting around to figuring out what to do with all those people.
This is what you get when your resume can be printed on a cocktail napkin. You've got no one you can trust to bring to work with you and all of the people you met in the hall and decided to hire on the way to the office turn out to be crooks, carpetbaggers and charlatans. With a team like that, it's no wonder he got rolled by Nancy Pelosi as she larded up the stimulus bill with every payoff she ever wanted.
If anyone thinks he has any idea what's in that bill, they've got rocks in their heads.
We knew this was coming.
A cursory look at Obama's entire life reveals that he lacks the ability to judge the character and integrity of his associates. I mean honestly did anybody expect someone who would consider Jeremiah Wright a "spiritual advisor" and thought nothing of funneling funds for a organization directed by William Ayers to be someone to trust with questions of character. Are any of the obam-phants now beginning to realize why the non-droolers were always wondering why all of Obama's associates were so ugly? This is the result of not getting an adequate answer!
Ah the inevitable Blame Bush comment. It's as reliable as the rising of the sun in the morning. Rest assured, gentle readers, that you can look forward to at least four more years of this.
Not only will I be blaming Bush for everything the damn Republicans will be blaming Bush for the next 25 years. If you thought Jimmy Carter was a convenient container for the world's ills watch out! And the best thing is that we will have
Senator Al Franken to bash on Bush and the bushies for the next 6 years. I can't wait!
Democrats remind me of the old story about a baseball player-manager who pulled his right fielder from the game after the right fielder had dropped two fly balls.
The manager put himself in right field, and promptly dropped three fly balls. When he returned to the bench he yelled at the player he had replaced, "See!! You screwed it up so bad nobody can play right field." I expect to here this over and over and over and over and over by such as rusty as Obama screws up over and over and over and over and over. It would be highly amusing if it were not so tragic and so predictable. Guys like rusty are what I call 'idiots' because they simply cannot connect with reality.
Reality tells me that the Democrats are 1 seat away from a filibuster proof majority in the Senate have an overwhelming majority in the House and the Presidency is in the hands of a charismatic democrat with an approval rating hovering somewhere around 70%. It sucks being you right now but it sucked being me for the last 8 years so I guess things even out over time.
And I'm not really a Democrat. I'm a Liberaltarian.
This is the begining of Barry's third week. Why do I have this image of a submarine captain who has fired a torpedo and is appaled to find it has circled around and is headed right for HIM? A month ago I was prepared for a rough four years. Now I'm popping the corn. This could be a laugh a minute.
Let's roll!
Hey, I think that the President went on the TV tonight and admitted that he screwed up.
"I don't want to send the message to the American people that there are two sets of standards, one for powerful people and one for ordinary people...," Obama said. Obama said: "I think this was a mistake. I think I screwed up." Looks like he agrees with you guys. I'll bet that sucks.
What about him? You hate him because he is the boogie man du jour but he has not really done anything wrong, certainly nothing illegal. He is about to melt into the background and have about as much public name recognition as Andrew Card. You guys will throw the occasional spear at him but nobody will give a hoot with his boss hogging the spotlight.
Remember when people worried about Obama's lack of experience, the Dems told us he had better judgement, so it was no big deal.
and now we also know why Democrats support large tax increases. They don't plan to personally pay their taxes, so its no big deal.
Anybody who doesn't recognize that Democrat=criminal is simply naive. Republicans have their share of crooks too but they normally boot them out once discovered. Democrats pull them closer. Doubt that? Talk to me about Charlie Rangel or "Cold Cash" Jefferson, not to mention all the rest of the Dem crooks that have been showing up lately.
I don't do business with Dems because I believe them to be morally corrupt, lacking in judgment and completely untrustworthy. Oh, and unpatriotic to boot. Let Bill Ayers or the Rev. Wright give them work--I won't.
You don't do business with Democrats. How do you know? Do you ask people up front what their political affiliation is before you buy something from them. How about independents? Will you do business with them? How about moderate republicans that may be pro life? Would you turn down a sale if the buyer wasn't wearing a flag pin?
Oh, and keep working that Bill Ayers thing. That angle is really working for you guys. And the Rev. Wright has been a really successful angle as well. And calling Democrats unpatriotic has yielded some great electoral results for the republicans also.
Welcome to "Chicago-on-the-Potomac", where the values that made "corruption that works" now makes the new government standard. The President is just taking what he learned from his political upbringing and applying it to the federal government. The fact that this produces the occasional Blagojevich and a constitutional crisis is an unfortunate sidebar, but should not interrupt the complete sale of the government. Gee, I can't wait until he starts nominating judges.
Boy. People like Rusty are going to have a tough time over the next few years. It might - just might -dawn on them one day that Bush is gone, the GOP has not controlled Congress for years and that his boy is the Bumbler In Chief.
Newsflash, Rusty. You're Messiah is a fraud. He's not a genius. He's a Chicago politician who has made a career of doing nothing, talking a lot and surrounding himself with the most detestable criminals, frauds, racists and left wing nutcases imaginable. You're now seeing the extent of his "executive experience" on display on the world's biggest political stage. This was not the change America voted for. This is rank, stinking hypocrisy, generational theft and naked corruption at the highest levels of government. And it's all on the Democrats' watch. CHANGE! Good luck, Rusty - you're going to need it.
Well gang, I have to get back to cheating on my taxes, enabling terrorism and killing babies so have a great day! I will be happy to reexamine this thread on day 100 and see where we are. I had no idea that 7 little words would spark such excitement!
>I have to get back to cheating on my taxes, enabling terrorism and killing babies so have a great day!
Or rather, you have to get back to voting for them. >I will be happy to reexamine this thread on day 100 and see where we are. You're already down to 84 days. And the economy won't turn around by then due to this Democrat porkulus spending bill. We'll be waiting for the excuses. |
